Homebuyer Assistance Applications Due Soon In Alameda County

The last application period for this year's down payment assistance through "AC BOOST" is open. Here's what to know.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Prospective homebuyers have until May 15 to apply for the Alameda County Down Payment Assistance Program —or AC BOOST — which can provide loans of up to $210,000 to help eligible residents purchase a house.

The program is funded by Measure A1 and is designed to help people who live and work in Alameda County, or were recently displaced, to get a leg up on home ownership.

Households earning less than the area median income can be eligible for AC Boost loans of up to $210,000, while households earning between 100 and 120 percent of the AMI can be eligible for $160,000. The shared-appreciation loans carry no interest or monthly payment requirements, but eligible buyers must be qualified for a first mortgage. The county also prioritizes first responders and educators.
