'Hundreds Of Animals' At Berkeley Adoption Event

An annual animal adoption event gets underway in Berkeley this weekend.

BERKELEY, CA — There will be plenty of puppies, dogs, kittens and cats at the "Bark (& Meow) Around the Block" adopt-a-thon and street fair happening Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The free-to-attend, family-friendly event will take place outside of the Berkeley Humane's Adoption Center. Hundreds of adoptable animals, from shelters and rescues throughout the Bay Area, will be there, according to Berkeley Humane staff.

It will also feature music, food and beverages, pet-themed and other vendors, and more.

"This event welcomes adopters and all of our animal-loving community members to come together in support of shelter animals," stated Humane Society staff.

The address for "Bark (& Meow) Around the Block" is 2700 Ninth St., Berkeley.
