The University of California system will soon offer its more than 500,000 students and faculty access to a full suite of artificial intelligence products through the design company Canva.

The partnership will include the Canva for Campus product suite, including Magic Studio AI products, which allow students to condense complex research into simple summaries and help faculty make complicated lesson topics easier to digest, according to Canva. Its offerings also let students create images from text prompts, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

“We always aim to meet our students, staff and faculty where they are and provide tools to further their success,” said Van Williams, vice president of information technology services and chief information officer of the university system, in a Canva news release.

“Canva’s ease of use and ability to make complex things simple has made it a widely used tool by our students and staff. Now, everyone in our community will have access to this powerful platform, a key tool in an increasingly visual academic and professional world.”

The new Canva expansion will be made available next year across the university system’s 10 campuses and is expected to cost under $1 million annually, according to the Chronicle.
