'Not (Quite) Shakespeare in the Park' at Berkeley's John Hinkel Park

The Actors Ensemble of Berkeley is presenting Lee Blessing's "Fortinbras," a modern tale which picks up where "Hamlet" ends. The free performances in the park are this weekend, Aug. 24-25, and the following weekend, including Labor Day.

Perhaps you've wondered what's going to happen to poor Norwegian Prince Fortinbras after he enters Shakespeare's play just as Hamlet expires in Horatio's arms?

If so, modern playwright Lee Blessing answers the question in his play, Fortinbras, which the Actors Ensemble of Berkeley is presenting for free this weekend, Aug. 24-25, and next weekend, Aug. 31 through Labor Day, Sept. 2, at John Hinkel Park in Berkeley.

All performances are free, with seating beginning at 3 p.m. You can reserve seats in the first three rows by calling 510-649-5999.
