Oakland Police Pursuit Allegedly Armed Suspect into Emeryville
The driver struck four other vehicles at some point, but it was not clear where those crashes occurred.

EMERYVILLE, CA — Oakland police officers chased a vehicle into Emeryville Thursday where it crashed near Interstate Highway 80, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers responded to reports of a man with a gun in the 1400 block of Seventh Street at 2:37 p.m., according to the Oakland Police Department.
The suspect fled in a vehicle before officers arrived, but they located the suspect vehicle nearby and initiated a pursuit when the driver failed to yield to a traffic stop, police said. The chase proceeded onto westbound Highway 80 until the driver exited the freeway and came to a stop at Powell Street, CHP Officer Henry
Schultz said.

Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to police.

The suspect fled on foot and is still at large. The incident temporarily closed the Powell Street off-ramp but all
units have cleared the scene and the off-ramp has reopened, according to Schultz.
