Shark Tank-Featured Milkshake Chain Now Has A Bay Area Address
An East Bay city is the newest location of The Yard Milkshake Bar, a specialty milkshake, edible cookie dough and ice cream shop.

BERKELEY, CA — Dessert enthusiasts in Berkeley have something to celebrate: the opening of The Yard Milkshake Bar. Its soft opening is underway as of early this week, with the official grand opening spanning Friday through Sunday.
Sree Koneru and Prathyusha Undavalli, the owners of the eatery, shared with Patch that they’re excited about its location on “the iconic Telegraph Avenue.”
“This city has a one-of-a-kind spirit, and we’ve built our shop to match it – fun, bold, and full of flavor," they said. "Whether you’re a student needing a sweet break, a family out for a treat, or just someone who loves a good milkshake, we’ve got something wild and wonderful waiting for you."

Their Berkeley "The Yard" is the first Bay Area franchise of the nationwide chain featured on the reality show "Shark Tank" in 2019.
“Known across the country for over the top milkshakes, scratch-made edible cookie dough, and desserts that double as works of art, The Yard is bringing its one-of-a-kind dessert experience to the Bay Area for the very first time,” reads an announcement on the The Yard website.

The Yard Milkshake Bar was created by married couple Logan and Chelsea Green. They opened their original store in May 2017 in their hometown of Gulf Shores, Alabama and now have over 30 locations across the United States, along with a multitude of social media followers.
The Greens’ slogan for their company, “Bringing all the boys and girls to The Yard since 2017,” is a nod to the lyrics of Kelis’ song, “Milkshake” (2003). They've also got a stuffed toy mascot named “Sprinkles the UniCow."
Those who stop by the Berkeley grand opening can sample scoops of edible cookie dough and participate in a “Build Your Own Milkshake” contest, with the winner's creation to be featured on a secret menu.
On Friday, visitors can get a free cookie dough pop, while supplies last. On Saturday, they can pick up free Yard stickers, also while supplies last.
Throughout the three-day grand opening celebration, there will be opportunities to win free Yard merchandise.
On Berkeley’s menu are over 30 flavors of ice cream, eight cookie dough offerings including chocolate chip, M&M sugar cookie and “peanut butter monster,” and specialty milkshakes and sundaes with names like “Birthday Cake,” “The Unicorn,” “Cookies 'N (Gummy) Worms,” and “Doughnut Touch My Coffees and Cream.”
“Our flagship specialty shakes come in a mason jar, which customers get to keep. It makes for a wonderful sit-down experience,” said Undavalli and Koneru.
The Berkeley Yard will have unique offerings “that showcase local taste and flair,” including the Berkeley exclusive milkshake called “The Sassy Lassi,” with mango ice cream, Greek yogurt and cardamom, topped with a mango puree drizzle, sliced mango, whipped cream and more.
Koneru and Undavalli are looking forward to meeting many people at their grand opening, as well as in the weeks and months ahead.
“We’re proud to be part of the neighborhood and can’t wait to scoop up something fun for everyone who stops by," they said.
The Yard Milkshake Bar, Berkeley, is open Monday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
