Fatal Crash On I-80: Sig-Alert Canceled

BERKELEY, CA — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Interstate Highway 80 Thursday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol reported.

A vehicle hit the motorcycle near the Gilman Street onramp, and then a tow truck hit the motorcyclist, according to the CHP.

The victim died at the scene.

The three right lanes of westbound traffic were blocked for two hours as investigators preserved evidence of the crash and crews cleared debris.

Traffic backed up for miles as vehicles crawled past the crash at just four MPH.
