Suspect Arrested: 9 Berkeley Burglaries
The suspect was briefly barricaded in an RV in Oakland.

BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley police arrested a person suspected in nine burglaries last Tuesday after they barricaded themself in an RV in Oakland.
Berkeley detectives responded to Oakland to find a suspect with multiple outstanding warrants for commercial burglaries.
Detectives connected the suspect to "numerous" cases, dating back to October 2023 and were tracking the suspect's location due to the theft of an electric bicycle on which the owner placed an Apple AirTag tracking device.

Around 12:20 p.m. last Tuesday, detectives were conducting surveillance on 30th Street, between Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Telegraph Avenue, when the suspect arrived in an alleged stolen vehicle.
Officers tried detaining the suspect, who entered an RV and barricaded themself inside.

Additional Berkeley officers arrived to secure the scene. A search warrant was obtained for the RV and after several announcements from police, the suspect exited the RV and was arrested without further incident.
The suspect was booked into jail on suspicion of nine commercial burglaries.
