Sutter's East Bay Endoscopy Center Awarded Highest Rating
Local Ambulatory Surgery Center Honored by U.S. News & World Report as 'Top Performer' in Colonoscopy & Endoscopy

This month, U.S. News & World Report named 10 Sutter ambulatory surgery centers to its 2025 list of Top Performing ASCs --and East Bay Endoscopy Center in Emeryville is one of them.
U.S. News—in collaboration with healthcare data analytics firm CareJourney—rated more than 4,300 surgery centers on several criteria, including how successfully they avoided complications, ER visits, unplanned hospitalizations and other undesirable outcomes, patient outcomes, risk-adjustment and more.
These award-winning surgery centers are in rare company: They are among the 16% of evaluated ASCs that achieved the highest possible rating, “High Performing,” in at least one of the four types of care that were evaluated, including colonoscopy/endoscopy, ophthalmology, orthopedics/spine and urology.
Sutter’s honorees are:

ASCs are equipped and staffed to safely offer high-quality, same-day medical procedures—including knee replacement, cataract surgery, hernia repair and many more—without the need for an overnight hospital stay.
Since they first began operating in the U.S. more than 50 years ago, ASCs have become more commonplace; there are now more than 6,000 nationwide. Sutter Health’s system has grown its number of ASCs and surgical care offerings to keep pace.
