Summer Movie Series
The City of Berkeley has been hosting free, open-to-the-public movie viewings in local parks throughout the summer. This Friday, families can head to Grove Park to catch “Sonic the Hedgehog 3.” The PG-rated film, which starts at 8 p.m., will be shown on a 20-foot by 12-foot inflatable screen.
City officials recommend getting to the park at least 30 minutes early and bringing blankets and sleeping bags to stay warm. Low-back beach chairs with seats no higher than nine inches off the ground are welcome. People might also want to have a flashlight or headlamp to make “walking out at the end of the night easier,” officials said.
Public transit, biking, or walking to the park is encouraged, as parking is limited.
Grove Park is located at 1730 Oregon St., Berkeley.
