Outside the Downtown Berkeley BART on Tuesday, guitarist and singer "Koyote" drew a crowd with his deep, bluesy voice and laid-back rhythms. He played "Shadow People" at the request of a homeless woman. It is unclear whether the song was an original or a cover.

Koyote, as he says he is known, has been traveling around California since he was a child. "I grew up traveling," he said. "I grew up homeless."
