BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Popular baby registry website Babylist is preparing to open its first-ever permanent physical location this summer.

The Babylist Flagship Showroom is set to take over a two-story, 16,000-square-foot space next to California Pizza Kitchen at Charleville Boulevard and Beverly Drive. Babylist representatives had an initial review of their plans at a city Architectural Commission meeting Wednesday.

The building will get a new coat of off-white paint, with Babylist’s signature eggplant-colored highlights in the entryway and handrails, according to documents submitted to the commission.

The city board members praised Babylist’s “playful” and tasteful design, though raised concerns about how lighter colors on a planned rainbow-painted staircase would age with foot traffic. The officials asked the company to consider alternative painting options and offer information about how it plans to maintain the staircase.
