Beverly Hills City Council Meetings Return To City Hall March 15

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Beverly Hills City Council meetings will return in-person after around two years of primarily virtual and hybrid council meetings.

The decision came just days before the county fully dropped its indoor mask mandate for vaccinated and unvaccinated people. The county had previously eased its indoor masking requirements for vaccinated people only.

Anticipating this decision, the council on March 1 unanimously approved moving city council meetings back in person starting March 15. Commission meetings will follow shortly after.

The decision comes as Los Angeles County continues to see positive data following the winter omicron-fueled surge, according to Meena Janmohamed, Manager of Emergency Management for the city.

One of biggest factor for deciding whether or not to return in person was masking requirements given how important it is for residents and council members to speak face-to-face, said Vice Mayor Lili Bosse.

Participants will not have to provide proof of vaccination to attend council meetings under current public health guidance.

Residents who don't want to come to city hall will still have a virtual option for viewing and participating in council meetings on the city's website.
