Burton Way Improvements Planned For Bikes, Pedestrians And Cars
Beverly Hills is planning a range of improvements for a busy stretch of Burton Way.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The city plans to replace curbs, improve bikeway striping and boost pedestrian infrastructure on Burton Way as part of a list of projects funded by the state planned for the upcoming fiscal year.
The City Council this week voted to approve a list of projects submitted to the state that will be funded by SB 1, the 2017 program that allocates money for roadwork across the state with proceeds from gas taxes.
Beverly Hills' 2023-24 allocation is $808,574. The city identified two projects that will be funded with that money.

The Burton Way project covers the north side of the street between North Rexford Drive and Oakhurst Drive and the south side between South Rexford Drive and South Robertson Boulevard.
The plan calls for resurfacing the street, replacing damaged curbs and gutters, reconstructing ADA ramp, improve bikeway striping and improve pedestrian crossings.

The second project that will be funded by SB 1 is the full reconstruction of Copley Place, a short dead-end street adjacent to the Los Angeles Country Club.
The SB 1 projects do not constitute every road project that will happen in Beverly Hills over the next year.
