BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Beverly Hills schools are the 18th best in the Los Angeles area, according to Niche's 2022 rankings.
The Beverly Hills Unified School District shined in categories related academics, college prep and teaching staff but struggled in categories like sports and clubs.
The 2022 Niche rankings considered multiple factors and data from the U.S. Department of Education for a comprehensive look at a district. This year’s analysis considered state testing scores, SAT and ACT testing scores, racial and economic diversity, surveys of student and parent experiences, athletic opportunities and more.

The most heavily weighted category was academics, accounting for 50 percent of a school’s score. BHUSD performed well in the academic category with 75 percent of students proficient in reading and 64 percent proficient in math.
The average SAT score for BHUSD students was 1330 and the ACT was 30, placing students at schools like the University of California, Los Angeles, UC Berkeley and the University of Southern California.

BHUSD has a student-teacher ratio of 17:1, in line with the national average, and an average teacher salary of $105,670, giving the district a high score for teachers.
The district had a relatively poor score for diversity based on the racial and economic diversity of schools and survey responses. The district is 69.4 percent white, according to Niche data.
The top scoring district in the area was La Canada Unified School District, with a student-teacher ratio of 24 to one and a high level of student proficiency in math and reading, according to Niche.
BHUSD ranked the ninth best district to teach in California and the 36th best district in the state.
