Drone Video Shows Bumbling Burglar Fall Off Ladder Into Pool: Police

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A burglar was caught red-handed when a Beverly Hills Police Department drone camera captured him falling off a ladder and into a pool, according to the department.

The burglary occurred around noon Jan. 6 on the 300 block of South Palm Drive. The homeowner was not home at the time, but was able to observe the man breaking into the home on security cameras, Fox News reported.

Officers were dispatched to the scene, along with a drone from the city's Real Time Watch Center.

The drone first captured the man crawling out of a window. He's later seen atop a tall ladder attempting to climb onto the roof of a garage. But the man slips, causing the ladder to give way and topple into the pool below.

David Verdun, 36, of Inglewood, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, ABC 7 reported.
