Erewhon Opens In Beverly Hills With Massive Crowds

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Over-the-top celebrity-favorite grocery store Erewhon Market opened a new location in Beverly Hills Wednesday, a grand opening met with much fanfare.

The store opened at 339 N Beverly Dr and will serve customers from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The market was packed all morning with customers buying prepared meals, stocking up on groceries and sitting for a bite on the store's patio.

Opening day attendees celebrated with free MALK cappuccinos and Clover lattes, and the first 100 customers to spend over $100 received insulated Erewhon bags full of goodies.

The Beverly Hills location is Los Angeles' eighth, including stores in Santa Monica, Venice, Los Angeles, Calabasas, Silver Lake, Palisades and Studio City. The high-end grocery store has become known across the country as a celebrity and influencer hotspot, made famous by its expensive smoothies and healthy choices.

The Beverly Hills location opening lived up to the market's celebrity status, garnering social media attention from celebrities like Heidi Montag, Daniella Monet and Austin Mahone.

The first Erewhon store popped up on Beverly Boulevard in 2011, followed by the Calabasas location in 2014 and the Venice location in 2016. The most recent opening was Studio City in 2021.

The present-day marketplace is a development of a 1966 macrobiotic and organic foods store in Boston, according to Erewhon's website. Ultimately this became a store called Erewhon West in Los Angeles in 1969.
