Family Celebrates Fourth Generation Born at Cedars-Sinai
Since 1924 the Paul family has made it a tradition to give birth at Cedars-Sinai.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — For almost 100 years, newly-born Asher Foreman and his family have been delivered at Cedars-Sinai.
In 1924 the first, Arnold Paul, was born at Kaspare Cohn Hospital; unknowingly starting a family tradition.
Arnold was born to Russian Jewish immigrants at Kaspare Cohn, which opened to provide Jewish immigrants with healthcare when there was nowhere else to go. Kaspare Cohn later merged with Cedars of Lebanon, which later became Cedars-Sinai.

Later, Arnold and his wife Yvette had their own children at Cedars of Lebanon. Their youngest, Jeff Paul who was born in 1957, later moved to the San Fernando Valley with his wife, but he was sure he wanted to continue the family tradition.
“It’s the family hospital,” Jeff Paul said, “and even though we don’t live as close anymore, we still use Cedars-Sinai as our hospital.”

Today the tradition stands strong with Jeff's daughter, Taylor Forman, giving birth to Asher at Cedars-Sinai on July 3, making him the family's fourth generation to be born at the hospital.
“It’s a testament to our history in the community and our reputation that we were the go-to hospital for four generations of one family,” said John Ozimek, DO, medical director of Labor and Delivery and the Maternal-Fetal Care Unit. “Let’s keep the tradition going.”
