Power Outage Affects Hundreds Of Beverlywood Residents

Nearly 600 Beverlywood residents lost power Thursday morning, according to LADWP.

BEVERLYWOOD, CA — Some 585 Beverlywood residents lost power Thursday morning as Angelenos everywhere were encouraged to save energy amid a major heat wave.

The outage was reported just after 10 a.m. and power was expected to be restored by 11:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

The outage was centered on Duxbury Road between Guthrie Drive and Bagley Ave, according to LADWP.

The outage had been assigned to a crew by 10:21 a.m. but repairs had not started, according to LADWP.

Beverlywood was expected to reach a high of 88 degrees Thursday, with temperatures already in the high 80s by late morning, according to AccuWeather. The area had an excessive heat warning in place between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.
