Jacqueline Avant Family Thanks Beverly Hills Police, LAPD And DA
The family of Jacqueline Avant issued a statement of gratitude following Tuesday's sentencing of Aariel Maynor for her murder.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The family of Jacqueline Avant, who was killed in her Beverly Hills home in December, thanked Beverly Hills and Los Angeles authorities following the sentencing of the man who killed her on Tuesday.
Aariel Maynor was sentenced to a minimum of 150 years in prison for Avant's murder. Maynor, 30, had previously pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and other charges, for which he was sentenced to an additional 40 years.
The Avant-Sarandos families issued a statement Wednesday. Jacqueline Avant's daughter, Nicole Avant, is married to Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos. Read the full statement below.

The Avant-Sarandos Families are grateful to Beverly Hills Police Chief Mark Stainbrook and the Beverly Hills Police Department, Beverly Hills Fire Department and Paramedics, Los Angeles Police Department – Hollywood Division, Attorney Shawn Holley, Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse, and Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Victor Avila for their unwavering dedication to public service and for the swift justice of our beloved Jacqueline Avant.
Nicole Avant directly thanked the Beverly Hills community at Mayor Lili Bosse's April 5 swearing-in ceremony.
"Being here and seeing all of you, I might as well say thank you to ... this entire community that reached out to my family in our darkest time. You kept us strong, and we felt loved, and we felt supported, and I just want you to know that I'm extremely grateful. All of us are extremely grateful, and it's really good to be back here and to see you. I really do love Beverly Hills," Nicole Avant said.

Nicole Avant also thanked the city on behalf of her father and music industry legend, Clarence Avant, who was at the April 5 event.
"You and your family are honoring us by being here tonight," Bosse said.
Bosse addressed the local significance of Jacqueline's Avant death.
"Your mom's loss rocked all of us. Just as none of us could ever be the same from what we've been through these last two years, losing your mom also changed all of us," Bosse said. She added: "I'm so grateful you could feel how much love we all feel with you. As you stand here by my side and by this community's side, you give us hope, and faith and grace and light and love to the future."
Jacqueline Avant was a philanthropist who served on the board of directors of the University of California, Los Angeles' International Student Center and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.
