BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Jean-Georges, the Waldorf Astoria restaurant from celebrated French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, is closing this week. But a new restaurant is opening up in its place at lightning speed, according to a recent report.

The hotel space previously occupied by Jean-Georges will reopen on Friday as Espelette — featuring an all-new menu from Waldorf Astoria chef and culinary director Steve Benjamin, Eater LA reported.

When Vongerichten's spot open 2017, it was the Michelin-star chef's first West Coast outpost. He's responsible for over 60 restaurants around the world, according to his website.
