BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Beverly Hills Mayor Lili Bosse appeared on "Dr. Phil" Tuesday to discuss antisemitism in the Los Angeles area and beyond.

Bosse, whose mother is a Holocaust survivor, has long been an advocate for Jewish people and recently attended an international antisemitism summit in Athens, Greece. She was joined on "Dr. Phil" by Sam Yebri, a lawyer and nonprofit leader who has also been outspoken about recent antisemitic incidents in Los Angeles.

The two on Tuesday discussed antisemitic comments made by Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, and an antisemitic banner that was dropped over the San Diego (405) Freeway in October.

"Even though Kanye and others are spewing hatred and are saying 'this is free speech, this is the first amendment' — this is how it starts," Bosse said. "We are fighting for the soul of humanity here."

Yebri was one of many Angelenos to see antisemitic flyers on their doorsteps over the last year. Beverly Hills has seen multiple rounds of similar flyers.

"This is more than just words, these are some really dangerous ideas," Yebri said.

Bosse emphasized that increased antisemitism is dangerous for everyone.

"This is 2022, and I realize that this isn't just happening to the Jewish population but there's no room for this anywhere," said Phil McGraw.
