New Ketamine Clinic Opens In Beverly Hills

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Pacific Ketamine Institute — a new, 1,800-square-foot medical facility providing ketamine-based treatments for depression, PTSD and chronic pain — opened in Beverly Hills Thursday.

According to Pacific Ketamine Institute, ketamine has recently emerged as a highly effective treatment for depression, PTSD, bipolar mood disorder and chronic pain.

"Intravenous ketamine treatments administered by Pacific Ketamine Institute provide significant relief without the unpleasant side effects associated with other antidepressant medications," the Pacific Ketamine Institute press release said. "Ketamine is particularly effective in treating severe cases of depression that have historically been treatment-resistant."

In March, Janssen Pharmaceuticals received FDA approval for an esketamine nasal spray called Spravato as a new treatment for depression. Pacific Ketamine Institute is an approved healthcare facility and pharmacy for Spravato, and it provides treatments in its Beverly Hills facility, the press release said. Pacific Ketamine Institute is approved to provide both types of ketamine treatment solutions: racemic ketamine IV infusion and the esketamine nasal spray.

Pacific Ketamine Institute is led by President and Medical Director Dr. Michael Steuer, a board-certified Pain Management and Anesthesiology expert with more than three decades of experience. Steuer has delivered lectures nationwide with professional organizations, published several medical papers, and spoken widely about depression and chronic pain issues, the press release said.
