Suspicious Item Found At BHPD Headquarters 'Not Dangerous': Cops

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A suspicious item is under investigation Monday afternoon at the Beverly Hills Police Department headquarters at 464 N. Rexford Drive in Beverly Hills. The item was recovered and officials deemed it not dangerous, a BHPD spokesperson told Patch.

Evacuations are in progress, he said.

The Beverly Hills Fire Department and BHPD were assisted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department HAZMAT team, along with the FBI and FBI HAZMAT team, the official said.

Roadways, including Redford Drive from Santa Monica Boulevard to Burton Way, were closed but will reopen shortly, according to the BHPD official.
