Mandeville Fire: Approximately 30 Acres Now Burning

BREAKING: More than 150 firefighters and three water-dropping helicopters are battling the blaze.

BRENTWOOD, CA — A brush fire Los Angeles fire officials are referring to as a "major emergency" is now approximately 30 acres, according to the most recent update. As of 3:15 p.m., the fire at 2969 North Mandeville Canyon Road in Brentwood has seen three water-dropping helicopters and more than 150 firefighters.

Officials say high humidity has created moisture in the air, which helps slow the fire's movement. It has come within 200 feet of structures, though firefighters prevented any further threat. No homes are currently at risk, and there is no evacuation order in place, though five homes were evacuated earlier as a precaution.

The cause of the fire is accidental and related to brush clearance, authorities said.
