BURLINGAME, CA — A 4-year-old boy killed when a teen drove her car into a Burlingame restaurant Friday has been identified as Ayden Everest Fang of Burlingame, police announced Monday. A 6-year-old girl hospitalized in the crash is expected to recover.

At around 6:25 p.m. on Friday, Burlingame Police Department officers responded to a fatal traffic collision on the 1200 block of Donnelly Avenue.

Police said a 19-year-old woman crashed her car into a Burlingame restaurant called Truffle Poke Bar, where it struck the 6-year-old and Fang, officials identified as Ayden Everest Fang on Monday.

The driver was entering the roadway of Donnelly Avenue from the driveway of Municipal Parking Lot D when an e-bike struck her car, police said. The driver then accelerated forward across Donnelly Avenue onto the sidewalk and then into the restaurant, where it came to rest, police said.

The 6-year-old was transported to Stanford Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, and Fang was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 19-year-old driver, a San Mateo resident, remained at the scene and police said she has been cooperative in the investigation.

"At this time, neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the collision," police said.

This is an ongoing investigation.

A GoFundMe has been created to support Fang's family, raising more than $20,000.

"Ayden's parents would like to express their immense gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this agonizing time," the boy's uncle wrote on the fundraising page. "Your donations are much beyond their expectations and they would love for these financial contributions to go towards a greater cause beyond their therapy. These thoughts are still in the beginning stages, but some ideas include improving pedestrian safety in San Mateo County or donations to Ayden’s school for future generations of children. We will find a way to honor Ayden’s beautiful spirit, and we thank you for your support as we grieve."
