Bicyclist Killed While Crossing Highway 101
A man was killed while attempting to cross Highway 101 in Burlingame on a bicycle Saturday night.

A 30-year-old man was killed trying to ride his bike across U.S. Highway 101 in Burlingame on Saturday night, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
Officers responded to reports of a crash on northbound Highway 101 near Broadway Avenue at about 10:40 p.m., CHP Officer Art Montiel said.
An initial investigation revealed that the victim, a Burlingame man, had attempted to cross highway lanes on his bicycle when he was struck by a green Honda Accord and then by a Dodge, Montiel said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of both vehicles stopped and cooperated with investigators.
Northbound lanes were closed for about 40 minutes.

Alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the crash.
