Four Shows Celebrate Local Artists
The Burlingame Art Society highlights local art in four shows.
In the mood for taking in an art exhibit without traveling far from home? Thanks to the there are currently four free art exhibits in the Burlingame area highlighting local artists.
The goal of the displays is “mainly to get the members’ art out in the public eye…and just to keep the public aware of Burlingame art,” said BAS Publicity Chair Pat McMorrow.
Burlingame residents can take an art tour around town, beginning with the 19-piece display at the , moving up Burlingame Avenue to and looping around and heading down Primrose Road to catch the show at , a solo exhibit by member Diana Day Glynn. The fourth show hangs a short drive away at the Peninsula Ballet Theater in San Mateo.

The art will remain on display throughout the month.
The 75 member society meets monthly, providing members with a platform for sharing their work with each other and learning from professionals brought in to critique members’ paintings.

McMorrow said BAS is always looking for new places to hang paintings.
“We’ve got so many members, and people paint and they want to show [their work],” she said.
The BAS meets the first Wednesday of the month from September to June, excluding December, at 7 p.m. at the Lions Club.
