For all who are struggling to make ends meet, Samaritan House is here to help. For over 50 years, Samaritan House has been leading the fight against poverty in San Mateo County. We are the only organization that delivers essential services and personalized support to connect the people living in poverty among us to the full range of resources and services they need. More than just ensuring our clients are fed, clothed, healthy, and housed, we help them create their own stability and remain an active, successful part of the community. Over recent years, more and more families in San Mateo County have been thrust into poverty. From the COVID-19 pandemic, to increasing wealth inequality, to the impacts of inflation and the housing crisis, the financial pressures on our neighbors have grown. Through it all, Samaritan House has been here to help – keeping pace with the demand and opening up new possibilities for people living in poverty. Hillsborough police are looking for a suspect in an attempted home burglary that took place Friday. 	 The suspect was captured on video surveillance camera attempting to break into a home on the 800 block of Darrell Road around noon on Friday, according to Capt. Doug Davis. The suspect allegedly entered a room that did not connect to the main living quarters of the home and then used a ladder on the property to try to break in through a second-story window, police said. He removed a window screen, but did not succeed in entering the house. 	 The suspect was described as a black male adult with short hair, wearing black cargo style pants, black boots and a gray hooded sweatshirt. He was driving a dark colored, cruiser style motorcycle with chrome trim, possibly a Yamaha Road Star. 	 Anyone with information on this incident or suspect is asked to contact police at (650) 375-7456.   --Bay City News
