Central County Firefighters took part in the 2011 burn relay.
Central County Firefighters participated today in the 2011 Peninsula Firefighters Burn Relay. The all-day event, benefitting the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, began at Moffet Field and ended in San Francisco.
The cartel of more than a dozen fire and emergency vehicles from across the Peninsula pulled into Burlingame around 1:45 p.m. At Central County Fire Station #34 on California Road, members of the firefighting team presented a check for $6,189.87 to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation.
The California-based non profit provides services to children and adults with burn injuries. Services include summer camps, support groups and other events. The foundation also hosts preventions programs teaching the "stop, drop and roll" technique.

During the day, checks from previous fundraisers were presented to the foundation representatives as the engines made their stops along the relay route. The Central County Fire Department held a Pancake Breakfast earlier in the year to raise money for the organization.
