Police Blotter: Roasting Beans, Stolen Laptops

Thursday, October 6 7:43 a.m. Laptop computers were taken from a business on the 500 block of Airport Boulevard. 9:50 a.m. There was a loud music complaint on the 1000 block of Oak Grove Avenue. The music was determined not to be too loud, but the resident turned down the volume anyway. 2:22 p.m. There was a report of a fire, but there turned out to be no merit to the fire, just a coffee bean company roasting beans at Airport Boulevard and Bleach Road. 4:15 p.m. There was a report of the a subject living in his car at California Drive and Douglas Avenue. However, when police knocked on the rear of the truck, no one answered. 11:22 p.m. There was a report of a loud TV on the 1200 block of Capuchino Avenue. There was no answer when police knocked on the door. Friday, October 7 7:31 a.m. A two-door silver Honda Civic was stolen from the 200 block of Myrtle Road. 12:07 p.m. There was a gas container left on a resident's porch on the 2200 block of Easton Drive. The resident believes it was loaned from a friend, but was unsure why it was left on the porch. 1:10 p.m. A mother reported her child missing on the 1000 block of Burlingame Avenue. She located her child, who turned out to be playing in the park. 5:43 p.m A resident complained that a maintenance man refused to leave until he was paid in cash instead of a check on the 1800 block of El Camino Real. 8:31 p.m. An officer saw a parked car with an open door left unoccupied on the 500 block of Airport Boulevard. The owner was located fishing in a nearby canal.
