School Board Continues Hoover Discussion
The Burlingame Elementary School District board members will decide on a design option for the property at 2220 Summit Drive.

At their meeting Tuesday night, Burlingame Elementary School District board members will discuss choosing between two design options for Hoover Elementary School, acquired by the district last summer and determined to act as a neighborhood school upon its opening.
Previously an elementary school, the property was most recently owned by Shinnyo-en, a Buddhist organization.
The district bought Hoover using funds from the $48.3 million Measure A bond that was approved in 2007 for school facility renovation and improvement.

Once a decision is made on the design, the environmental and traffic studies for the Hoover campus at 2220 Summit Drive can begin.
Option A costs $6,872,000 while Option C costs $10,804,000. The board narrowed down options to just the two at a July 28 meeting.

Also at the meeting, the board will receive an update on the facility upgrades made possible through additional Measure A dollars completed over the summer.
