Authorities Identify 21-Year-Old In Fatal Calabasas Crash

A 21-year-old died after a crash on the 101 Freeway in Calabasas.

CALABASAS, CA — Authorities on Tuesday identified the man killed in Monday's Calabasas crash as a 21-year-old.

Raymundo Garcia, 21, died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The crash occurred around 9:10 p.m. Monday on the Ventura (101) Freeway just south of Las Virgenes Road.

The Los Angeles County Coroner-Medical Examiner confirmed Garcia's identity Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities rescued two other people from the collision, one of which was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to LAFD. A third person had minor to no injuries and did not go to the hospital.

The collision occurred on the northbound freeway and prompted a closure of lanes on both sides of the freeway, KTLA reported. Two vehicles were overturned on the other side of the freeway after the crash, according to KTLA.
