CALABASAS, CA — Authorities made three arrests related to a burglary in Topanga while the homeowner's were out.

Three people were arrested on charges including burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, Lost Hills Station.

Authorities on Sunday responded to a call from a Topanga resident reporting their neighbor's door was open even though their neighbors had not been home, according to the Lost Hills Station. Deputies noticed burglary tools in the vehicle outside the house, and detained three people on suspicion of residential burglary.

"During the investigation, deputies discovered suspected Methamphetamine, a loaded handgun, burglary tools, checks and credit cards in the homeowners’ names. Deputies later learned two of the suspects had outstanding warrants," the department said in a Facebook post.
