City Completes Old Town Sidewalk Project

The city of Calabasas on Wednesday officially unveiled upgraded walkways and landscaping in Old Town.

CALABASAS, CA — The city on Wednesday revealed Old Town Calabasas’ makeover complete with new walkways and landscaping.

At a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, the city revealed new sidewalks, benches, landscaping, street lights, fencing, signage and more

Construction on the Old Town Sidewalk Replacement project started in April 2022 and took place on Calabasas Road between Park Granada and the Ventura (101) Freeway southbound ramp. The project aimed to revamp walkways that required constant maintenance, according to the city.

“The existing sidewalk material has reached the end of its useful life and now requires continual maintenance and repair,” city officials said on the city’s website.

Despite the changes, Old Town will maintain its special charm, city officials said.

“These improvements to Old Town will preserve and enhance the 'Old West' look and feel while providing pedestrian improvements,” city officials said on the city’s website.
