Get out your cameras and start taking photos in and around the Santa Monica Mountains for the upcoming Spirit of the Mountains 2013 Photo Contest sponsored by the National Park Service.
The annual show features a wide variety of amateur photo subjects captured throughout Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
Entries will be taken between Sept. 1-30.

"Each year we are amazed by the ability of local photographers to capture the beauty and mystique of the Santa Monica Mountains," said Kate Kuykendall, park spokesperson, "The submissions never cease to amaze and inspire."
Entry forms, information and instructions are available online athttp://www.nps.gov/samo/photocontest.htm.
Winners will be announced at 1 p.m., October 19, at the opening of the 2013 Photo Contest at the Interagency Visitor Center.
