Regency To Open Sunday At Calabasas Commons

CALABASAS, CA — The Regency movie theater at the Calabasas Commons is slated to open Sunday, showing highly anticipated movies like "Avatar: The Way of Water" and a Whitney Houston biopic.

Regency Theaters recently announced it would fill the theater at the Commons left vacant in September when Regal Cinemas filed for bankruptcy. Regal Cinemas closed a number of theaters in Southern California at the time, including Anaheim and Irvine.

The revamped theater, located at 4767 Commons Way, has six auditoriums with new recliners, according to Caruso and Regency.

Opening on Christmas Day, the theater will show the following movies:

• "Avatar: The Way of Water"
• "I Want to Dance with Somebody"
• "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish"
• "Babylon"
