$17K Lottery Ticket Sold In The South Bay

The Powerball jackpot was won in Michigan Monday night. Here in California, $1.2 million Powerball ticket was sold in Baker.

SAN JOSE, CA — The big lottery news over the 3-day holiday weekend is that someone won Powerball. A jackpot ticket worth $842 million was sold in Michigan for Monday's drawing, according to the Powerball authority. The jackpot for Wednesday resets to the minimum $20 million.

Here in California, a $1.2 million Powerball ticket that matched the first five numbers was sold in Baker, out in the Mojave Desert on the way to Las Vegas, according to the California Lottery. Six tickets also matched 4 numbers plus the Powerball for $22,698 each. The locations where those tickets were sold was not announced.

The jackpots for MegaMillions and SuperLotto Plus both rolled over with no winning tickets.

A ticket sold in San Jose for Saturday's SuperLotto Plus matched the first 5 numbers but missed the jackpot number. It is one of two five-of-five winners in the state — the second ticket was sold in LA. Each ticket is worth $17,765.

The Jackpots are now $11 million for SuperLotto Plus, $20 million for Powerball and $114 million for MegaMillions.
