$258M In State Dollars To Fund SJ BART Extension Design
This month, the state allocated more than $258 million to support the final design of a six-mile BART extension in Santa Clara County.
SAN JOSE, CA — The California Transportation Commission this month allocated another $830 million in state and federal funds for infrastructure projects across the Golden State, including a large share earmarked for Santa Clara County.
The CTC announced the latest funding assignments Thursday, tapping money from the bipartisan Infrastructure and Jobs Act of 2021, state Senate Bill 1, and the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.
"These investments will help provide the next generation of transportation projects in California, strengthening efforts for bridge maintenance and renovation, increasing safety for people who walk and bike, expanding equitable access and continuing support for the movement of goods and services that fuel the state's economic engine," said Tony Ravares, Caltrans director.
