7 Arrested in Robbery Spree Affecting Santa Clara Co. Cities
Santa Clara police took 2 adults and 5 juveniles in custody for a string of robberies, attempts and assaults on Monday spanning 5 hours.

SANTA CLARA, CA -- Santa Clara police arrested seven people -- two adults and five juveniles -- who waged a multi-city robbery and assault spree Monday night that lasted into Tuesday morning. The six incidents occurred in Campbell, Santa Clara and San Jose.
The first alleged robbery, which occurred at 5:50 p.m., when a woman was walking through a Target parking lot. The suspect failed to get her purse. At 6:04 p.m, another in which the purse was taken was reported to in the parking lot at Safeway on Homestead Road. Fifteen minutes later, a victim at a different Safeway on Stevens Creek Boulevard was the target of a purse snatching.
Yet another Safeway parking lot in Campbell on Winchester Road was the site of a crime scene about a half hour later, Santa Clara police added. This time, the suspect used a deadly weapon when a security guard was hit with the muzzle of a rifle. He sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Nearing 11 p.m., a male victim confronted a suspect brandishing a gun and demanding his wallet on Salsbury Drive in Santa Clara. A few minutes later, another man faced a suspect pointing a gun at him. His cell phone was stolen.
Police spotted the vehicle described and apprehended the seven suspects.
