Campbell Heritage Theatre Receives Financial Boost

Campbell Heritage Theatre received $26,000.

Two favorite Campbell institutions received donations totaling $71,000 at the Tuesday Campbell City Council meeting.

The Campbell Museum and Ainsley House Foundation donated $45,000 to the and .

The Friends of the Heritage Theatre made a $26,000 donation to benefit the .

The group formed in the early 2000's to help raise awareness and restore the . With help from city staff the group was able to raise $3 million dollars and the theatre was reopened in February 2002.

Currently, the Friends of the Heritage Theatre raise money through membership, special events, donations and sales of concessions at theatre events in order to help maintain and operate the theatre.

"These donations are important to maintain theatre operations," says Campbell Heritage Theatre Manager . "Besides the Friends of the Theatre's $26K donation, we received donations from many local businesses."

Some of those donors include: 

  • Naschmarkt Restaurant
  • - Janie Kelly & Pam Finch
  • Kieve Foundation
  • Padgett Business Services

Donations from these various local businesses total $3,900, Jacobson said.

"We had many generous sponsors of our 2011/12 Season as well," she says.

These donors include:

  • Kirkwood Plaza
  • Critchfield Construction
  • Courtyard Marriott Campbell/San Jose
  • Law Office of Derek L. Austin
  • State Farm- Mark Chapman & Yvonne Kendall

These donations have totaled $49,500, Jacobson says.

In the 2011-12 fiscal year, the Friends sponsored a classic cinema series, began selling theatre cups and were the beneficiaries of a sizeable bequest-- $20,000 from former Campbell Union High School educator Kathleen Bull.
