Arcadia Ballpark Plans To Be Discussed By SJ Mayor Wednesday Eve
Mayor Sam Liccardo will be joined by Councilwoman Sylvia Arenas in the Evergreen neighborhood to go over the ballpark's development plans.
SAN JOSE, CA -- San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo and Councilmember Sylvia Arenas will speak with community members Wednesday evening about the Arcadia Ballpark development in the city's Evergreen neighborhood.
The approximately 15-acre baseball and softball field at Quimby Road and Capitol Expressway has been in the works since 2016, when the Arcadia Development Company donated the large patch of open space next to Eastridge Center shopping mall for recreational facilities.
Current plans include four natural turf, adult-size baseball fields, night lighting, bleachers, electronic scoreboards, a concession office, 240 parking spaces, picnic tables and landscaping.

The ballpark is a product of $228 million bond Measure P, approved by voters in November 2000. Work is underway and Liccardo and Arenas will discuss the development's effect on the surrounding neighborhood.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at George V. LeyVa Middle School at 1865 Monrovia Drive, which is directly south of the site.
