Body Found In Coyote Creek By Hiker Identified

The San Jose Police Dept. indicated no foul play was associated with the death.

SAN JOSE, CA -- A man whose body was found in Coyote Creek Lake last Thursday has been identified as 40-year-old Rafael Marquez, the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office reported Wednesday.

A hiker found Marquez in the lake near Monterey and Metcalf roads and told maintenance crews. Police responded to the scene at 11:56 a.m. and confirmed he was deceased.

Police said there is no indication of foul play in the man's death, and the county medical examiner's office said he did not have a listed permanent residence.
