Police evacuated the business but did not have to close off S. Bascom Avenue, since traffic was pretty light at that time of the day, Adams said.

No notification was made to residents in the vicinity because of the time and circumstances of the incident, Adams said.
The suspect was located about a block away from the restaurant. He admitted to leaving the box but his statement was all over the map as far as what the package was, Adams said.
"Based on the suspect’s mental state he was taken to mental services for evaluation," he said.
Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad was called out to assess the situation and deemed the package was not dangerous.
"We appreciate the help of the Santa Clara Sherif’s Department for helping us bring this to a conclusion fairly quickly," Adams said. "To my knowledge, we have not had an incident occur like this within four to five years. It's an uncommon occurrence."
