SANTA CLARA, CA — Two young men are being celebrated as heroes this week after finding six abandoned puppies in Santa Clara and going out of their way to ensure their safety.

According to the Santa Clara Fire Department, the boys found the puppies in a plastic bin with a closed lid, which was left on the side of the road near Scott Lane Elementary School on Sunday night.

They scooped up the bin and drove to several veterinary offices, finding them closed due to the late hour, and the boys decided to seek help at Fire Station 2. Fire crews quickly called the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority, who wasted no time responding to the scene and caring for the young pups.
