Brothel Murder Suspect No. 5 Taken Into Custody
With the help of officers in Milpitas, S. SF and Fremont, San Jose police arrested its fifth suspect in a homicide case tied to brothels.

SAN JOSE, CA -- The final suspect in five arrested for a homicide case involving brothels gone awry was identified as Jun Li. He was alleged to have taken part in the murder of Xingjian Li, 31, of San Gabriel from a gunshot wound over a year ago.
San Jose Police homicide detectives learned that Li, 36, was possibly living in San Bernardino, where its police department assisted in the investigation and took him into custody on Nov. 27 outside his residence in the 1300 block of North D St. in San Bernardino. Li was transferred to the Santa Clara County Jail on murder charges.
Two other suspects come from Chino -- Panpan Huang, 36, and Jason Shen, 22. Another, Lin Tao, 27, lived in Monterey Park, while the other, An Yan, 28, from Baldwin Park.

On Sept. 28, 2017 at 8:42 p.m., San Jose police officers responded to a person shot in the 300 block of Elan Village Lane in San Jose. Arriving officers located Li suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A collaborative investigation between San Jose, Milpitas, South San Francisco and Fremont police departments determined that there were four cases between in a three-day period involving the same suspects.

On Sept. 27, 2017 at 10:26 a.m., Milpitas police officers responded to a suspicious circumstance call in the 500 block of Murphy Ranch Road in Milpitas. Arriving officers located a female victim who reported being robbed and sexually assaulted.
The next day at 3:00 p.m., Fremont police officers responded to a home invasion robbery in the city. Arriving officers located three female victims who reported being robbed at gunpoint. One of the victims had also reported being sexually assaulted.
On the following day, South San Francisco police officers responded to a robbery call in the 100 block of McLellan Drive. Arriving officers located a female victim who reported being robbed and sexually assaulted at gunpoint two days prior at midday.
All four locations were determined to be operating brothels.
