Campbell Voters Approved Library, Police Measure To Upgrade
As the Registrar works to finalize election results, the Santa Clara Co. Library District was pleased voters passed the $50 million bond.

CAMPBELL, CA -- This Santa Clara County town wrote the book on supporting its local library and police force when it checked yes on the ballot to approve Measure O, the $50 million bond initiative earmarked for police and library facilities.
"This is a win for the people of Campbell who deserve to have the quality and conveniences that only modernized police and library facilities can provide," county Librarian Nancy Howe said.
The tax rate for the bond was estimated at a fraction of a cent per $100 in assessed value to fund an emergency police operations center with station upgrades and a library to meet earthquake codes. A two-thirds majority was necessary to pass. It received 68 percent.

Howe mentioned upgrades would involve making best use of space for services and materials as well as ensuring the library is ADA accessible, energy efficient and earthquake code-compliant.
