Crash Involving Stolen Motorcycle Turns Deadly: San Jose Police

A man riding a stolen Suzuki motorcycle died Tuesday night following a collision in San Jose.

SANTA CLARA VALLEY, CA — One person is dead after a collision involving a stolen motorcycle in San Jose on Tuesday evening, according to police. Officers responded to the crash at North Ninth and East Santa
Clara streets at 7:37 p.m., police said. A preliminary investigation showed that a silver Nissan Altima driven by an 18-year-old man was traveling up North Ninth Street when another man riding a stolen Suzuki motorcycle collided with his vehicle at East Santa Clara Street, police said.

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital but died a short time later, according to police. The driver of the Nissan remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.

The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office was not releasing the identity of the motorcyclist as of Wednesday morning.

San Jose police said that this was the 12th fatal collision on city streets this year.
