ESUHSD Kicks Off Holiday Fundraiser For Unhoused Students

The school district is inviting neighbors to help buy warm clothes and gifts for more than 1,000 unhoused students this holiday season.

SAN JOSE, CA — The Children's Moon Festival has kicked off a holiday season of fundraising for students in need, inviting neighbors to help support more than a thousand unhoused high schoolers in the East Side Union High School District.

The district partnered with the East Side Education Foundation for the fundraiser's 33rd holiday season, seeking donations to help provide warm clothes and gift cards for local students in need.

"Over the years, we have witnessed the unwavering determination of students who qualify for the McKinney-Vento Program," Superintendent Glenn Vander Zee said. "Despite the hardships, they endure and strive to graduate with their peers. Every donation, regardless of its size, will have a meaningful impact. I invite you to join us in making a positive impact on the lives of our McKinney-Vento students and their families."
