Explosive Device Found At Home Of South Bay Elected Official
San Jose councilmember Dev Davis reported an explosive device at her home in the Willow Glen neighborhood on Tuesday.
SAN JOSE, CA — An explosive device was found at the home of San Jose councilmember Dev Davis on Tuesday in the Willow Glen neighborhood.
Davis, who ran unsuccessfully for mayor of San Jose in the June 7 primary election, said in Facebook post Wednesday that she was “grateful to the San Jose Police Department for their quick and ongoing work.”
Davis’ family and neighbors were evacuated and the device was removed by the San Jose Police Bomb Squad.

“We are also very grateful to our neighbors for their vigilance, their understanding, and their support,” Davis said.
Davis has served on the city council since 2016. It was unclear if Davis was specifically targeted and not suspects have been identified.

“Losing the primary last week Tuesday was disappointing,” Davis said. “Yesterday put that loss into perspective. My family and I are safe, and that is always going to matter more to me than anything else.”
